Hark was formed in memory of my dad, Charlie "Hark" Dourney who lost his battle with ALS in 2009. We provide financial support to ALS patients and their families. We use our documentary, Hope on the Horizon, to visit communities across the country and raise awareness of ALS as well as host fundraisers for local families with 100% of the proceeds donated to the family. We recently launched the Annual Hopemobiles for PALS initiative to raise funding to purchase an accessible van for an ALS family. When the van is no longer needed it will be returned to Hark and gifted to another family. Hark also fully supports Girls on the Run of Central NJ. Girls on the Run is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Important social, psychological, and physical skills and abilities are developed and reinforced throughout the program. At the end of each 10 week session the girls and their families run a celebratory 5K race.
