Zimmer Children's Museum

Zimmer Children's Museum

The Zimmer is dedicated to guiding children and youth to recognize potential within themselves and their communities and to take meaningful, collaborative and collective action to create a better future. We do this through community-minded exhibits and programs that promote interactive learning, creative self-expression and leadership development. The Zimmer has both a children’s museum for 0-8 year-olds and youTHink, an innovative youth development program for underserved youth ages 9-18. The museum offers 10,000 square feet of discovery-based exhibits rooted in themes of social justice and a robust calendar of programs and classes. The Zimmer’s “We All Play” access initiative ensures provides free and subsidized admission for low income families and Title I schools, scholarships for camps and classes and exclusive “Open Door Days” for families with children with special needs. youTHink provides arts-based lessons and youth leadership programs that help urban teens discover their potential and solve complex problems for themselves, their communities and the ever-changing world in which they live. By participating in youTHink, underserved middle and high school students cultivate their creativity, their passion and their power. This is how we clear the path for young people to live their dreams and become leaders.
